  • set and arrange tables for customers
  • greet customers and present them with menus and beverage lists
  • take orders and pass them on to kitchen and bar staff
  • serve food and drink
  • open bottles and pour beverages; may recommend wines to complement an order
  • clean premises, clear tables and return dishes and cutlery to the kitchen
  • remove empty bottles and used glasses from tables, refilling and replacing glasses
  • present customers with a bill for their food or drink
  • collect payments from customers and operate point of sales machines and cash registers.
